Every April, flocks of festival enthusiasts, celebrities, and influencers descend upon a desert in Indio, California to attend Coachella. The first weekend of the highly anticipated music festival provided plenty of memorable moments and surprises.

Girl group BLACKPINK took Coachella by storm and made history as the first K-pop girl band to perform at a music festival in the United States. Their already strong fanbase cheered on as BLACKPINK performed their hits and gained some new fans.

Childish Gambino’s performance was widely praised for authenticity. The artist gave an emotional speech dedicated to his father, Nipsey Hussle, and Mac Miller, who all passed away. Rounding out the top three is Billie Eilish. Just 17 years old, the pop star has been riding the wave of fame since her 2016 single “Ocean Eyes.”

Who’s discussing Coachella? It is overwhelmingly popular with those 17 and below, who make up more than half of the conversation. The second most prominent age group discussing Coachella is those 18-24. More females (66 percent share of voice) discuss Coachella than males.
