BLACKPINK Becomes The 1st Girl Group in History To Top Billboard Global 200 Chart
BLACKPINK UPDATE – August 30, 2022 KST
Congratulations! BLACKPINK becomes the 1st Girl Group in history to top Billboard Global 200 Chart.

According to Soompi:
BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” had debuted at No. 1 on both the Global 200 and the Global Excl. U.S. charts with the second-largest worldwide weekly streaming total since the charts were introduced in September 2020. This makes BLACKPINK the first girl group in history and “Pink Venom” the first K-pop song released in 2022 to top the Global 200.
The Global 200 is based on sales and streaming data from more than 200 territories around the world, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart ranks songs according to data from territories excluding the United States.
This marks the group’s first-ever No. 1 on the Global 200 after previously peaking at No. 2 in October 2020 with “Lovesick Girls.” The 2020 track previously topped the Global Excl. U.S. chart, making “Pink Venom” BLACKPINK’s second song to achieve this feat. BLACKPINK is now only the third act to score No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart multiple times, after BTS and Justin Bieber.
According to Luminate (formerly MRC Data), “Pink Venom” recorded 212.2 million streams and 36,000 download sales between August 19 and 25. During the same tracking week, the song racked up 198.1 million streams and 27,000 download sales in territories outside of the U.S.
“Pink Venom” has also debuted at No. 22 on this week’s Hot 100, marking BLACKPINK’s eighth career entry and their fourth top 40 hit, after “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez, “How You Like That,” and “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga.
