The article below is from Billboard: BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ Makes K-Pop History on Hot 100 & Billboard 200 Charts

BLACKPINK makes history on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated April 20), as the group’s new single “Kill This Love” becomes the highest-charting Hot 100 hit ever by a K-pop girl group.

The song debuts at No. 41, breaking the record previously held by BLACKPINK’s own “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” which debuted and peaked at No. 55 in June 2018.

“Kill This Love” opens with 18.6 million U.S. streams and 7,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music, as it debuts at No. 22 on the Streaming Songs chart and rises 48-39 on Digital Song Sales. The group previously marked a milestone when “DDU-DU DDU-DU” became the first song by a K-pop girl group to appear on Streaming Songs last year.

“Kill This Love” is from BLACKPINK’s new EP of the same name, which debuts at No. 1 on the World Albums chart, earning the group its second leader on the list, after 2018’s Square Up. The new release concurrently debuts at No. 24 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with 19,000 equivalent album units, becoming the highest-charting title by an all-female K-pop group.

With 9,000 in traditional album sales, Kill This Love launches at No. 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, also the highest placement, and first top 10, for a K-pop girl group.

BLACKPINK additionally lands six tracks on the World Digital Song Sales chart, matching the act’s best one-week total. Here’s a rundown:

No. 1, “Kill This Love” (up from No. 2)
No. 4, “Don’t Know What to Do” (debut)
No. 7, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” (up from No. 11)
No. 8, “Kick It” (debut)
No. 9, “Hope Not” (debut)
No. 24, “Bumbaya” (re-entry)

“Kill This Love” hits No. 1 on the chart for the first time, earning the group its fifth World Digital Song Sales leader, following “Bumbaya,” “Playing With Fire,” “As If It’s Your Last” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
