The No. 1 spots on The Hollywood Reporter’s Social Climbers charts for the May 1-dated issue remain largely the same, with one exception: The Late Late Show with James Corden takes over the top spot on the Top News/Talk/Variety tally, ruling the list for the first time.
THR’s Social Climbers charts are rankings of the most popular entities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart’s methodology blends engagement to entities’ social media accounts along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended April 23.

The Late Late Show, which previously peaked at No. 3 on Top News/Talk/Variety earlier this month, vaults 9-1. The CBS show was up in all social media metrics (a boost of 378% across all platforms) thanks to the show’s posts promoting the appearance of K-pop girl group Blackpink on April 19. The four-piece performed new single “Kill This Love” and participated in a game of Flinch.
A pair of shows additionally debut on the list: CBS News Sunday Morning (No. 4) and Sesame Street(No. 10).
The Top Scripted and Unscripted tallies, meanwhile, are again ruled by Game of Thrones and American Idol, respectively.
On the personality-based rankings, Dwayne Johnson holds No. 1 on Top Actors after nabbing the top three posts on social media by an actor in the tracking week, led by an Instagram upload celebrating daughter Tiana’s first birthday.
Shemar Moore, Jason Momoa and Robert Downey Jr. additionally vault into the top 10 at Nos. 7-9, respectively. Moore jumped 82% in Facebook post likes thanks to uploads on April 20 celebrating his 49th birthday, while Momoa’s social media boost is thanks to his making waves on Instagram; in addition to shaving off the beard for which he’s been long known (a process he documented in a video), the newly clean-shaven actor uploaded a series of much-favorited photos with Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
