BLACKPINK & BLINK, Happy Chinese New Year 2019: Year of The Pig

Happy Chinese New Year 2019 to BLACKPINK and BLINKs around the world. Chinese new year in 2019 begins on February 5 according to the traditional Chinese calendar.

Chinese new year in 2019 is year of the pig. Why is 2019 the year of the pig?

Each Chinese year is presided over by an animal zodiac, either snake, horse, dog, goat, monkey, rooster, pig, rat/mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit or dragon.

The animals of the Chinese zodiac rotate on a 12-year cycle, and recent years of the pig include – 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019.

Each animal has attributes which are said describe those who are born in that year’s personality.

For those born in the year of the pig, including BLACKPINK Jisoo (born in 1995) are said to have a beautiful personality and are blessed with good fortune in life.

Hope not only BLACKPINK Jisoo but also all BLACKPINK members and BLINKs around the world will be blessed with good fortune this year and all upcoming years.

Lets celebrate Chinese new year 2019 by watching this cute fan-made video of BLACKPINK members dancing in pig costume. Happy Chinese new year!

  1. Yeah …i can see blackpink everday
    We love blackpink…

  2. Jisoo’s Chinese zodiac is dog not. The Chinese zodiac for Year of the pig is Jennie’s

  3. Since Jisoo is born on the Jan 3rd, she still counts as a dog.
